The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reveals Earth could be just 10 years from heating by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.
This is a threshold beyond which even more serious and frequent fires, droughts, floods and cyclones are expected to wreak havoc on humanity.

What can YOU do about climate change?
Small actions combined can make a huge difference, especially when it comes to where we choose to spend our money.
We must choose ethical brands/suppliers and MUST divest from coal.
Not quite sure what divestment is? Simply put, divestment is the opposite of investment. When money is removed from somewhere it is invested, it is divested.
We've put together this simple guide to divestment to provide you with more information about how you can make a REAL difference with your dollar.
There is a possibility that we CAN navigate a narrow path and avoid climate catastrophe, but only through immediate and deep cuts to our greenhouse gas emissions.
Feeling overwhelmed about the latest climate science?
You're not alone. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the information, the scale and the urgency of climate change. However, we must keep fighting and taking action.
To help, 350.org Australia and Climate Justice Union are collaborating to host two online climate science information sessions: "Anger, Hope, Action" that will help to understand the findings of the IPCC report and learn how you can get involved.
Register to an event by clicking the workshop below and to receive a Zoom link ⬇️
Workshop 1 - Wednesday August 25, 6:30-8:00pm (AEST)
Workshop 2 - Saturday September 11, 1:00-2:30pm (AEST)
These workshops will include:
-
An overview of the report and recent updates on climate science, provided by Dr Lesley Hughes of the Climate Council.
-
A space for us to collectively discuss emotional responses and mental health impacts for activists and community members 💛
-
Concrete avenues for taking action and ramping up the pressure for systemic change to address the climate crisis.
Some things which can help us to keep fighting effectively:
-
Clear, understandable and accurate scientific information;
-
Spaces, places and people with which to share our concerns and responses, and;
-
Opportunities to take meaningful actions toward achieving systemic change
Time to take action!
One action we're proud to provide is giving people in Australia the opportunity to divest from fossil fuels with their electricity bills. Switching to Enova means you're helping to champion renewable energy - not coal, oil or gas.
